You will see the plastic curl up and then it will flatten back out. At first, the Shrinky Dinks will curl up, but then they will flatten back out. When you take the baking dish with baked designs out of the oven you may need to flatten out the designs slightly with a flat object in case they have curled. If you don’t want that look, add acrylic paint to the back of your earrings to give them more color. Mix the resin and add a smidge of glitter. The Resin Obsession crystal doming resin is perfect for this because it mixes thick. The heat gun will blow the plastic over your table, so use tweezers to help it stay in place. Go over the surface of the plastic with the heat gun and let it shrink. Your table needs to handle the heat of a heat gun.

Doing this should help make the process much more comfortable since it allows you to get a more precise outline for your shapes. If you’re using colored pencils, you should ensure that both sides are sanded to allow for better color retention. However, you could also color the shrinky dinks on both sides since the images will not show through. Frosted shrinky dinks come pre-sanded, allowing you to decorate them using colored pencils without the fuss of sanding them yourself.
